To carry and bear weight or load. What are you holding?
This is my husband holding a sea cucumber. He pulled it out of the touch tank so our girls could touch it and look closer. While in the water this creature looked all spiky but once pulled out of the water it turned all soft and the spikes seemed to meld back into itself. Such an amazing transformation.

Wow - it looks like a funky piece of chicken covered in teriyaki sauce. (No offense to the innocent cucumber!) :-) Great shot - and neat lesson for the rest of us!
