Back in May the middle finger of my left hand was slammed in a sliding screen door. A month later the outer nail had come unhinged on one side and continued to get caught on things, causing me a great deal of pain in those moments. I finally got the nerve to take a pair of nail clippers to it and cut off as much as possible. Revealed underneath is a sad and disfugured new fingernail emerging.
